After Closing Almost 9 Years Ago, Circuit City Plans To Re-Launch

Many might remember that it was almost a decade ago when Circuit Cities everywhere closed their doors for good.  Well now they are making quite the comeback.

This week the electronics retailer announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the company plans on launching a chain of “innovative retail stores” through out the country.

CEO Ronnie Shmoel said the company will comeback with an “experiential” website first, then a series of kiosks before adding stores within stores then eventually showrooms.  Some of the reboot website features are reported to be “videos, virtual vignettes, search-by-photo, augmented reality and real-time tech support via video chat.”

Also, their website will be supported by IBM Watson’s AI commerce platform, programmed to learn customers’ interests and help them by “placing experience over product,” according to Shmoel.
